Odisha TET 2019

 Board of secondary education, Odisha invites candidates for Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for various teaching posts in different schools located in the state. Candidates interested in pursuing teaching as a profession can apply for Odisha TET 2019 by submitting an online application. Only eligible candidates will be allowed to appear for the exam conducted by the board.  Candidates can either appear in Paper-I or in Paper-II or both. Exam pattern

The exam pattern of OTET 2019 is given below-

  • Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes for each paper
  • Type of questions: Multiple choice-based
  • Marking scheme: 1 mark will be given for each correct answer
  • Negative marking: Not applicable

Note: Candidates need to choose any one of the optional papers to appear in OTET 2019- A (Mathematics and science) or B (Social studies). Each of these papers consists of 60 marks. 

Application form OTET 2019

Applications for Odisha TET 2019 will only be accepted through online mode. Candidates are required to fill the application form available on the official website. Candidates wishing to appear for both the papers will have to submit different forms separately. The application form should bear the correct information of the candidates. Providing misleading details can end up in the rejection of the application of that candidate. Applicants have to upload their documents while filling the form. They then need to proceed for payment of the application fee. Incomplete applications will be rejected summarily by the authority. 

Application form

Payment of the application fee can only be done through online mode i.e. using a credit card, debit card and net banking. The application fee to be paid by the candidates has not been announced yet, but last year it was Rs. 500/- for the general category candidates and Rs. 300/- for SC/ST candidates. 

Eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria that must be met by the candidates for Odisha TET examination are as follows-

  • For paper-I: Candidates should have completed higher secondary or its equivalent with minimum 50% aggregate marks and have done any of the following course- D.El.Ed, B.El.Ed, Diploma in education (special education), or have done graduation with D.El.Ed/ B.Ed from a recognized university.
  • For paper-II: Candidates should have finished graduation with any of the following course- D.El.Ed, B.Ed, B.El.Ed from a recognized university or have passed higher secondary with 50% aggregate marks and have done B.A, B.Sc, B.A Ed or B.Sc Ed.

Admit card

Candidates can download the E-admit card from the official website a week or two before the commencement of the exam. They need to keep a printout copy of the same and carry it to the exam venue on the day of the examination. Candidates also need to bring a valid photo ID proof along with the admit card. No candidate shall be permitted to appear in the exam without these documents.

Selection procedure

To qualify OTET examination, candidates have to secure a minimum of 60% marks in the examination. The authority will publish the merit list of the candidates who have cleared the exam. Candidates can apply to different schools based in Odisha as per the OTET scores obtained by them.
